Case study: ADM Pressings

Reaching your target market: How we helped ADM Pressings strengthen their brand

With a history spanning 70 years and a range of precision engineering solutions of on offer, the business development team at Newcastle-based ADM Pressings were looking for ways to reach their target market in the automotive industry as well as develop new opportunities for their engineering services.

We were first approached to support the team with exhibiting at Manufacturing Week at the NEC in June 2022, their first trade show since Covid-19.

Discussions quickly revealed that, alongside the initial brief, the business could also benefit from a more integrated approach to brand design and messaging.

This meant that, as well as coordinating the stand design, production and logistics, Stick Marketing also delivered a refreshed look and feel as well as a new website and a range of printed promotional material. With just over two months to get everything ready, we were up for the task.

A clear, recognisable brand builds recognition and trust

Our brand development work included rationalising the company’s brand look and feel, logo and colour usage to develop a clear visual identity, which was applied to the new website and trade stand. We also developed a consistent set of stationary and promotional collateral, underpinned by a new set of brand guidelines.

Our mix of skills and North East connections meant we were able to deliver more

We designed and launched a new website for ADM Pressings in time for the show. As a leading OEM supplier providing precision engineering solutions for clients in the automotive, commercial vehicle and off-highway sectors where their strength lies in the vast range of services they deliver under one roof. At the outset we knew that communicating that would be key. Our work included SEO and social media support to help them get noticed online, copywriting and design and build of the site.

Our cost-effective approach involved using professional videography and photography – not just to strengthen the website but to add movement, interest in insight to the trade show stand.

By pulling in trusted North East professionals in print, photography and videography to compliment our core SEO, design and digital marketing specialisms, we were able to provide ADM Pressings with not just the video they needed for the short term, but a bank of professional imagery, display and print materials that can be used across a range of marketing applications.

Supported by fresh imagery and a range of brand consistent digital and printed materials, ADM Pressings are now perfectly placed to showcase not just the scale of their operations for the automotive sector but are already creating new opportunities in other sectors that are lucrative for them.

We also supported the new website and trade show activity with LinkedIn content, delivering a 300% increase in new followers in the run up to the show.

“Stick Marketing has always delivered quality material for ADM Pressings. The team are very professional and always prepared to work with us to deliver exactly what we want, when we want it.  They’ve helped us to consolidate, integrate and improve our brand communications.  Their attention to detail and willingness to go that extra mile makes them a pleasure to work with.”

- Nigel Hemming, Business Development Manager, ADM Pressings

Working closely with the business development team meant we could deliver what they needed

Working on site and remotely from the North East we were able to deliver what the team at ADM Pressings needed with a quick turnaround.

Our extensive experience in trade shows meant that we were able to not only conceptualise and design an attractive and eye-catching stand, but we also supported the business development team with trade show planning including health and safety, and logistics. Practical touches included the introduction of QR codes on business cards and providing pre-event advice and support to the team ensuring everything went smoothly on the day.

One of our favourite moments during the project was the call we got from the team on the trade stand at the NEC, thanking us for all our hard work and letting us know how well it was going.

What next?

It went so well that we have been engaged to work with ADM Pressings on a retainer basis, including their next trade show, the Euro Bus Expo at the NEC in November.

We’ve got some exciting plans in the pipeline to increase engagement on the stand.

We’re continuing our content marketing and social media support for the team, developing LinkedIn to build a buzz ahead of the next trade show and writing blog content to keep the website fresh and grow their digital footprint.
